We’re on a mission to deliver easy to use, relevant training at the point of need.
50% of the global workforce is expected to be “mobile” or partly mobile by 2020. This is why our approach is strictly mobile-first, and why companies like Uber are relying on the eduMe microlearning platform to scale their operations efficiently and effectively.
Today, we use our smartphones to meet all our needs. Whether that’s communicating via social networks like Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter or Instagram, shopping on Amazon, placing your grocery orders, booking your holiday or searching for information.
According to Google and comScore, we spend an incredible 6 hours per day on our mobile phones, computers and tablets, with mobile usage making up half of that time!
A majority of consumers are multi-platform (57%) and will often be multi-screening, accessing sites from different devices. 1 in 5 are using two devices at the same time according to Google, so it’s really important to provide the same consistent experience across screens!
Imagine this: you start learning for a few minutes on your mobile with a fresh head after your morning coffee. You then pick up where you left off as you’re sitting on the bus or train with some time to kill. While you’re in the office, you need to refresh your memory , so you use the computer screen in front of you to revisit the training content that you found useful. And then, if you’ve still got the energy, you check in to see if there are any new micro-lessons after dinner when you’re winding down.
This is the behaviour we have observed among our users. And, as you’re aware, this is exactly how popular consumer and entertainment services like Netflix and Spotify cater to their users.
We’re therefore very happy to announce that we now make it possible for learners to learn across both our web and app solutions, with synchronised progress across platforms.
Once the learner has activated their account, they can access their learning via mobile browser, desktop browser and eduMe app. The user interface and journey is the same across all of these - easy to use, familiar and conversational.
The content you create on the eduMe platform is compatible for use across platforms - with no additional work involved.
Moreover, you can continue to track learner progress in exactly the same way as before, with the added benefit that the learner can complete lessons on different devices, bringing completion rates up.
Well, you give the learner more options to access training in the way (s)he prefers so there is an increased likelihood that learning outcomes are ultimately achieved. By making it even easier to pick up where you left off, our microlearning approach of serving up bite sized pieces of content is supported further. By keeping lessons between 2-4 minutes, we are achieving 96% completion rates
If parts of your company don’t want to, or can’t, download an app onto their phones for some reason, the roll out and completion is unhindered as they are still given the same opportunity to learn. For example, our client Rappi is using our web solution for their office-based customer care agents, and the app for their large network of delivery drivers
If your learners are partly based in an office, they may sometimes prefer to use their computer to access learning and they can then pick up where they left off on their phone when they are away from their desks
From a security perspective, you can reset your password from any device so assuming you have company sensitive information and lose your phone, you can reset the password from your computer and thus lock the account on the phone.
What other cases can you think of?
